Whether it be a music festival or a community event, Greater Miami residents will always have something different to enjoy each month. April is here, and this month has quite a few things that residents may enjoy to attend or participate in. The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition

The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition is one of the most anticipated yearly events in the Miami area, and will run fun March 23rd to April 16th. The fair hosts a variety of outdoor and indoor event, which include the Youth Fair. The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition is the largest fair in Florida, and includes 90 carnival rides, livestock exhibits, agricultural competitions, live concerts, and more. Tickets to the fair start at just $10.

The Longines Global Champions Tour

Each April, Miami Beach hosts talented riders and their horses at The Longines Global Champions Tour. This event, which runs from April 13th to the 15th, kicks of the second leg of the 15-event Championship. Riders and their horses showcase their jumping skills right on the sands of South Beach! How cool is that?! The world’s top riders and horses compete in the championship to gain valuable points in the overall Championship season battle. Spectators have complimentary access to seating around the arena, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Miami International Jazz Festival

The Miami International Jazz Festival graces Miami music lovers with the smooth sounds of live jazz music every April. This year’s festival runs from April 27th to the 29th. The yearly festival is presented by The City of Miami and the Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs. The mission of the festival is to showcase an array of jazz performers to give them a chance to present their diverse jazz expressions and talents. Redland Blues & Barbecue Festival

The Annual Redland Blues & Barbecue Festival takes place from April 22nd to the 23rd at the Fruit & Spice Park in Homestead. It may be a little drive from the heart of the city, but it’s well worth it to get out of the city and breathe some country air. The two-day festival features family-friendly activities, which include pony rides, rides for the kids, and some of the best barbecue in South Florida. General admission is $8 per person; and, children 11 and under can enter the festival for free.

Aids Walk Miami

Miami - Aids Walk Miami

April 23rd sees the return of the annual Aids Walk Miami, which takes place on Miami Beach. The event consists of a 5K walk-a-thon fundraiser through the famous streets of South Beach. The Aids Walk Miami will benefit over 15,000 individuals living in Miami-Dade and Broward Communities who are infected with or have been affected by AIDS and/or HIV. Get out for a good cause, and get some fresh air and take it some new sights in the process.
