Bay Harbor Islands
Bay Harbor Islands are essentially a suburb of Bal Harbour but offer some perks of their own. Those include a quaint downtown area, several restaurants, a police department, parks, and easy access for both Bal Harbour and Bay Harbor Islands to the mainland via Broad Causeway (though there is a SunPass toll plaza). For those interested in outdoor adventure, there are many outdoor parks and recreational activities to enjoy. From picnics and kite-flying, to outdoor watersports and boating, Bal Harbor is way too beautiful to spend anywhere other than outside. It is common to see early-morning paddle boarders exploring the bay, or fitness enthusiasts trying yoga or Pilates on the beach at sunset. Bal Harbor is about a lifestyle of luxury and excitement, but also provides convenient amenities necessary for everyday living. Grocery stores, barber shops, banks, medical buildings, and salons are all plentiful in the area, and easy to access from anywhere. Families with children are happy about the top rated schools available to them in this area, both public and private. Public schools include G. Holmes Braddock Senior High and Devon Aire K-8 center. For private school options, many families send their children to Dade Christian or Christopher Columbus High. There are many youth programs such as sports and fine arts for kids of all ages to be a part of. Although this city oozes luxury and sophistication from every side, it is a place where families can feel safe and secure raising their kids.
